The HybridTec project aimed at the design and development of new technological approaches to production, based on an innovative product associated with the horizontal structure of a cars front seat, through the use of hybrid material solutions and innovative processing technologies based on thermoplastic composites.

This development was focused on reducing the weight of the structures currently used, associating a better weight/performance ratio, integrating components in a single structure, and generating an integration of functions to the final product, which provides a global cost reduction in function than what exists on the market.

The main results obtained in the HybridTec project focused on the development of two innovative technologies integrating hybrid materials and metallic inserts.

The development carried out made it possible to obtain an automotive component associated with a reduction in the product weight of more than 20% compared to aluminum solutions.

The integration of several components has become advantageous since the traditional production process of this type of structure integrates a series of processes and components, which through the developed productive solutions enabled the development of a single component through a single processing technology.
