UminhoTech

UMinhoTech is a network of institutions for research and technology development (R&D), acting as key research transfer agents between the research laboratories of the University of Minho (Portugal), companies and institutions that seek innovation in their products and services. 

This network of institutions constitutes a strategic interaction between the University of Minho and its socioeconomic environment.

As a network, UMinhoTech members explore their complementarities in terms of competencies, applied research areas and market sectors. This complementarity enhances the universe and expands solutions and responses to the challenges presented by industry and other economic and social institutions.

UMinhoTech members develop their activities in Portugal, but also internationally, following an internationalization strategy.

CCG

Computer Graphics Center

With 25 years of existence, the CCG dedicates its activity to applied research and development, in the fields of computer graphics, information, communication and Electronic technologies, as well as to their application at national and international level.

CVR

Centre for Waste Valorisation

Is a nonprofit institution that offers research, scientific analysis and actual application services in the waste valorization area. Regardless of the industrial activity, CVR has the necessary expertise to support projects and initiatives related to the management of a wide variety of industrial waste streams.

PIEP

Innovation in Polymer Engineering

Institution of reference for innovation in engineering of polymers, both for national and international industry, in sectors as the production of plastics components applied for aeronautics, footwear production, car manufacturing, electronics, transports, etc, contributing to realize new ideas, sustainable economic development and industrial competitiveness.

TecMinho

University of Minho Interface

Its main mission is the promotion of university connection to society, especially in the areas of science and technology, contributing to regional development by improving the competitiveness of organizations and increase the skills of individuals. There are three main lines of action: Continuing Training, Technology Transfer and University Entrepreneurship.


UMinhoTech Project

The UMinhoTech has as main objective to promote economic recovery of R&D results produced by the University of Minho and its technological interfaces and strengthen the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge for the business sector.

The UMinhoTech project aims to be a pioneer project on economic valuation of the scientific knowledge produced at the University of Minho and in its technological interfaces.

With the implementation of this project the promoter Consortium seeks to achieve the following operational objectives:

  • promote and facilitate communication with the corporate sector;
  • promote the visibility of R&D units,
  • raise new customers (new companies and new economic sectors);
  • receive new projects (European and national);
  • offer the industrial sector an integrated response University – research centers;
  • promote the internationalization of the University of Minho and its technological interfaces.

For the pursuit of these objectives the promoter of this project, consortium aims to operationalize an innovative approach of the corporate sector.
