Senior Inclusive: Technology Beyond Age

From the partnership between siosLIFE, PIEP – Innovation Pole in Polymer Engineering,
Computer Graphics Center, and University of Minho, was born the Senior Inclusive project.
The company that led the project – SiosLife – combined research and the university in an
innovative software that, applied to an ergonomic and robust tablet, has as its main
objective to increase the quality of life of the elderly.

Currently, the device is already being tested by older people and their families. Senior
Inclusive is a technology-based service that allows users – elderly or family members – to
make phone calls, measure health parameters, detect falls, and locate people in real-time. Its
operating system has a thematic organization that facilitates the search for information.
Through the creation of three devices: a tablet, a dock station with a telephone handset, and
a smartwatch, Senior Inclusive gives autonomy, promote social inclusion, and allows the
monitoring of the elderly in their daily lives.
The device, which gives new life to traditional phones through its specific features, is
expected to debut in the first quarter of 2019.
